   Girl held my hand out of the blue and now what? A fellow classmate of mine asked me to go to an art gallery with her a couple nights ago.    I held my grandmother's hand last year while she died of advanced stage lung cancer (among other things), and it was almost exactly like you described. The "death rattle", the pain medication, the confusion. With my grandmother, she even started to hallucinate and try to grab at things in the air in front of her. It was not easy to watch.
