Jun 10,  · referencing You Could Have It So Much Better, CD, Album, EK , Ok, the album is 'taken out', the melodies are here again but as much as I truly loved them for all their debut's worth, 'You Could Have It So Much Better' sounds more like 'You Shouldn't Have Bothered' - especially after their brand new 'hit' of 'Do You Want To' /5(1K).

Franz' first album had songs that all, for the most part, sounded very different from each other. However, to me a lot of the songs on "You Could Have it So Much Better" sound alike. The songs that DO sound profoundly different are: The Fallen - Walk Away - Do you Want to - Fade Together - Outsiders - Eleanor put your boots on/5().

Opting not to fix what broke them, You Could Have It So Much Better serves up more of the stylish, angular sound that worked so well on Franz Ferdinand's debut. After years of rehearsing in abandoned Glasgow warehouses and playing in relatively obscure groups like the Yummy Fur, it's perfectly understandable why the band chose not to mess with a good thing -- and why they chose to follow up 7/
